Wine Tasting Season Returns to Bainbridge

Wine Tasting Season Returns to BainbridgeIt’s black and sleek, screams luxury and is big enough to fit a group of friends or the extended family. It cruises around Bainbridge Island and is a regular at the island’s wineries and beaches. This is one of two passenger vans owned and operated by Natalie Rodriguez, founder of Tour Bainbridge.

In its second year of operation, Tour Bainbridge is the only transportation and tour company on Bainbridge Island. Starting this summer, vans will pick up visitors from Seattle at the Winslow ferry dock to provide tours and transportation around the island. If you’re a local, Tour Bainbridge will even provide door-to-door transportation from your house when touring with the company. How is that for a designated driver?

Rodriguez started Tour Bainbridge to fill a need that she saw on the island.

“When I moved to the island three years ago, I kept having the same conversations with people over and over about how beautiful the island is and how we needed better ways to explore it. We are surrounded by such beauty and after a while, I kept sharing these same beautiful spots with people,” she said. “I started Tour Bainbridge to share these places with others and to bring more connection to the community.”

Tour Bainbridge schedules wine tours and tastings, in addition to a variety of other tours around the island — from food and spirits to history and hiking.

Rodriguez is doing just that. She has formed relationships with four of the island wineries and has been providing year-round tours between the group. The scheduled wine tours are led by expert guides, and have a maximum of 11 guests per van to ensure an intimate and personalized experience.

Bainbridge Island is a 30-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle or a short drive from beyond Kitsap County. You’ll be enjoying one of the best wine tasting in Washington. As part of these wine excursions, you’ll get to experience three to four of the island’s wineries, often meeting with the winemakers and getting personalized tours and barrel samples.

Wine tours can be booked directly at www.tourbainbridge.com. They include all wine tastings (at least 15 different wines), a tour guide, safe transportation and a souvenir wine glass.

Not only does Tour Bainbridge offer amazing wine tours, but it also has a variety of other tours around the island, from food and wine, to beer and spirits, to history and hiking the great outdoors. Grab a group and start your summer adventure.
