‘Gardens with a View Tour’ Showcases Eight Gardens — for a Good Cause

The self-guided “Gardens with a View Tour” returns to North Kitsap, giving the public a view of eight amazing gardens.

Spend Saturday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., admiring these special gardens with fantastic views. Two are high up on Foulweather Bluff. One is 5 acres of garden rooms with an Asian theme; the other, a 2-plus acre enchanting woodland garden, sure to fire-up shade-gardeners.

There’s a beach garden in Driftwood Key; another has a Hood Canal view featuring a large, colorful wind sculpture by Seattle artist Andrew Carson.

Martha Stewart is a fan of a well-known garden designer who collects plants from all over the world and gets them to grow in Hansville. This exotic beauty has an amazing territorial view. Another winner, with Skunk Bay and Mount Baker vistas, is the 1-acre garden of an avid dahlia collector.

And don’t miss the whale-watching garden with a 180-degree panorama of Admiralty Inlet and a koi pond that may contain fish if the herons don’t get there before you do. Finally, visit a unique garden overlooking Coon Bay designed by another well-regarded designer.

Proceeds go to fund the good works of Hansville’s Helping Hands and Cemetery, the group that put together this always popular event.
